Keeping it in the family
 

Pon Steyn Motors is a family owned business established in 1983 in Somerset West under the name of Steyn’s Motors. The business was started by Pon Steyn and his older brother, Piet Steyn 34 years ago.

In 1994 the two brothers went on their separate paths. Pon bought the Mondeor Road property and started Pon Steyn Motors.

The company has grown from having only two employees to nearly 100. Pon Steyn Motors has become one of South Africa top suppliers in Military spares and Land Rover spares and services. The company has grown substantially in its offering and has kept ahead of its customer’s needs.

In 2010, Pon Steyn son Arno Steyn joined the company as a part of the management team and since 2022 Arno Steyn has taken over the company from his dad.

Together the leadership team has over 60 years’ experience in business management and are good mix of generations; each bringing their own unique contributions and expertise to the company.

Our services
 

Pon Steyn Motors is divided into two divisions Land Rover Service Parts and Service Centre and Custom Land Rover Rebuilds.

1. Land Rover Parts and service centre.

We offer new and used Land Rover parts to the public.

  • We offer new Land Rover parts from various suppliers locally and abroad.

  • We have a large variety of vehicles we are breaking up for spares and a very large selection of used parts.

As part of the Land Rover Service Centre, we offer the following services:

  • Basic to major services on any Land Rover.

  • Full drive train rebuilds

  • Local Diagnostics.

  • Overland vehicle preparations

  • Pre purchase vehicle inspections


2. Land Rover Projects and Rebuilds

We have 3 subdivisions in the project department

  • Upholstery

    We have a wide range of upholstery services we offer from recover a head rest to a full interior refurbishment.

  • Panel and Paint Shop

    From accident damage repair to full strip down and respray of Land Rovers

  • Accessories and Extras

    We offer a large range of accessories and extra for your bespoke Land Rover needs

As part of the Land Rover Project and Rebuild department, we offer the following services:

  • Custom-build Land Rovers (to client’s specific requirements)

  • Land Rover accessories, rims, wheels, light upgrades, roof racks and anything you can dream of.

  • Export custom-built Land Rovers to the USA.

  • Vehicle export advice and assistance
